The IAPMO Group and the World Plumbing Council are hosting a two-day international forum Feb. 11-12, 2004, exploring the relationship of SARS (Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome) outbreaks and plumbing system design.

The IAPMO International SARS Symposium, to be held at the Hilton Los Angeles Airport Hotel in Los Angeles, will be for plumbing industry professionals, scientists, engineers and healthcare representatives to discuss how SARS can be prevented from spreading through the plumbing system.

Among topics to be discussed are the Hong Kong Health Department's report, which linked the SARS outbreak to an apartment complex's sanitary system, and the World Health Organization's September 2003 meeting on SARS.
