The IAPMO Group and the World Plumbing Council are hosting a two-day international forum Feb. 11-12, 2004, exploring the relationship of SARS (Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome) outbreaks and plumbing system design.

MCAA/PCA also will co-sponsor the IAPMO International SARS Symposium, which will be held at the Hilton Los Angeles Airport Hotel in Los Angeles for plumbing industry professionals, scientists, engineers and healthcare representatives to discuss how SARS can be prevented from spreading through plumbing systems.

Among topics to be discussed are the Hong Kong Health Department's report, which linked the SARS outbreak to an apartment complex's sanitary system, and the World Health Organization's September 2003 meeting on SARS.
