Home Depot Introduces Small-Format Stores
April 30, 2002
Atlanta-based Home Depot opened the first in a series of small-format stores opening in urban areas in Brooklyn, N.Y. Another mini-store is planned for Staten Island in September and Chicago next year. According to USA Today, Home Depot has reconfigured its big-box format to stores half the size in order to fit into urban areas. The smaller stores will have the same prices and product mix, just not as much of each item.
