Construction Spending Increases

Construction spending increased $54.8 billion - from $623.1 billion in November 1997 to $677.9 billion in
November 1998, according to the Commerce Department. The increase was for the sixth month in a row, and was
attributed to unseasonably warm weather and low interest rates.
