IAPMO announced that the ANSI Executive Standards Council had approved its accreditation application. As an accredited standards developer under the Organizational Method, IAPMO is now poised to develop the Uniform Plumbing Code and Uniform Mechanical Code as American National Standards. These codes will become part of the 2003 Consensus Code Set, the first true family of consensus codes being developed by IAPMO and its industry partners, NFPA and the Western Fire Chiefs Association (WFCA).
