Plumbing & Mechanical Next Gen ALL STARS

Next Gen All Star: Brady Jolly

By Nicole Krawcke
11 PM 0923 NGAS Brady Jolly
September 6, 2023

Brady Jolly

AGE: 31

COMPANY: JOLLY PLUMBING, DRAINS, HEATING & AIR

TITLE: OWNER AND CEO

How long have you been in the PHCP-PVF industry?

BJ: My entire life.

What drew you into the industry?

BJ: Family business. My parents started the company in 1979 and I grew up in the business. I’ve always been drawn to the industry because of the feeling it gives me when we help customers when they’re in a time of need.

What is the most rewarding aspect of working in the industry?

BJ: The most rewarding part of the industry for me is seeing the growth of tradesmen and women. There’s nothing better than watching someone’s journey from an apprentice with little to no experience to a key contributor in our business.

What is one thing you wish more people knew/understood about the PHCP-PVF industry?

BJ: It’s an incredible career. Oftentimes, it's people’s second or third option as a career choice, but once they begin, they realize how financially and personally fulfilling of a career it actually is.

What has been the proudest moment in your career so far?

BJ: Moving into our new state-of-the-art facility that includes a basketball court.

What is one thing most people don’t know about you?

BJ: I rode a bull at a rodeo in Arizona.

Why he was chosen as a Next Gen All Star Top 20 Under 40 winner:

“Brady took over the business from his father in 2014 and purchased the business in 2017. Since taking over the business they've transitioned their business from 80% commercial to 95% residential while growing revenue 700%. He's built a strong culture in their business and has a passion for building and growing tradesmen and women. They have a state-of-the-art office with a basketball court and event center inside. The court is available to all employees and they allow employees to host gatherings in the event center free of charge.

Jolly is a growing company with a strong community presence. They're regularly hosting community events like their popular "Trucks and Treats" event that helps promote the trades to the younger generation.

Brady recognized early in his career that if they were going to have the workforce to keep up with their growth, they better build an apprenticeship program. Most of the technicians at Jolly have been homegrown and learned plumbing or HVAC from Jolly. This helps build a great culture because employees recognize that Jolly took a chance on them before they had a skillset to be in the industry. Most of the time employees want to repay the favor by being great employees.

“Marketing is pivotal to what Jolly does. When Brady took over the business, Jolly wasn't spending any money on marketing. They now invest significantly in TV, Radio, Transit, Digital, Arena, and other marketing. They have a fun, quirky mentality when it comes to marketing and often use their employees in their marketing ads. They're well known around the community for their creative advertising and slogan, "A Flush Beats a Full House,’” — Carson McKenzie
