Water-Right announces new lead generation program for dealers

Headlines
January 5, 2021

Water-Right, an original equipment manufacturer (OEM) in the water treatment industry, is proud to announce the launch of a home services program to select Lowe’s home improvement locations across the country.

Water-Right’s parent company, A. O. Smith Corp., currently provides all Lowe’s stores with off-the-shelf retail water treatment equipment manufactured out of its Groveport, Ohio, location. While the in-store product line is very robust, it does not offer solutions for unique water treatment needs homeowners are challenged with today. To help provide quality water options to all store visitors, A. O. Smith and Lowe’s have initiated test markets leveraging the water treatment experts within the family of North American Water Treatment, beginning with Water-Right’s trusted customer group.

Initial and ongoing phases of the program are very straight forward. Water-Right customers are first identified and then authorized as the service providers to the stores within their local area. It is expected the service provider will conduct basic water treatment knowledge training for store associates on a regular basis and perform on-site consultations with customers. The partnership will also allow the water treatment provider to set appointments for in-home consultations with shoppers who have needs above and beyond the retail options offered. Advanced Water-Right manufactured equipment would then be sold, financed and installed by experienced, factory-trained professionals throughout the independent business channels participating in the program.

“This opportunity to generate new customer leads through Lowe’s store shoppers has proven successful in the initial phases," said Erik Koglin, Water-Right’s national channel manager. "‘Do-It-Yourself’ product options are naturally limited, so connecting consumers to a water treatment professional who already has access to a wider range of solutions can help fill in the gaps that the homeowner faced traditionally. We look forward to seeing this expand throughout our customers and well as more of A. O. Smith’s other North America Water Treatment dealers.”

A. O. Smith Corp. is a Milwaukee-based company founded in 1874 with a 35-year partnership with Lowe’s supplying its in-store water heater offering. In 2018, Lowe’s stores expanded the relationship to begin stocking select A. O. Smith water treatment products on the shelf. Water-Right was purchased by A. O. Smith in April 2019 to expand its presence in the water treatment industry.
