Viega’s seminar centers in Bloomfield, Colorado and Nashua, New Hampshire, held training and examination sessions in January and February for the ASSE 19210 Hydronic Heating and Cooling Installer certification. Bo DeAngelo, manager of technical training at Viega, conducted the trainings for these sessions. Those attending were either recertified after their original certifications three years ago, or were new certificants. Viega plans to conduct another training on June 2, and depending on travel/meeting guidelines in place at the time will hold this in either an in-person or virtual format. Value of ASSE 19210: According to Dave Yates, now retired and former owner of F.W. Buehler in Pennsylvania: “When the new ASSE Professional Qualification Standard 19210 certification course became available, I immediately signed on for the 3-day course to obtain this new installer certification. The fact that this new 19210 qualification standard class and test is administered by ASSE raises the bar substantially for the hydronic and electric radiant heating/cooling industry.”
