The International Code Council released the first episode of the ICC Pulse Podcast, a new show that gives listeners an inside scoop on the Code Council and the building safety industry.

The debut episode features an interview with Jay Elbettar, P.E., CBO, LEED AP, CASp, a code official in Mission Viejo, California, registered professional engineer, and the ICC Board of Directors president. Elbettar talks about his experiences as a code official, current challenges faced by code officials, and disaster preparedness and resiliency.

Each month, host and ICC Director of Communications Whitney Doll will interview an industry expert and discuss current events, innovative technologies and more. Upcoming episodes will focus on disaster mitigation, fire safety, code enforcement and the code hearings.
