More than 47,000 HVACR professionals attended the 59th AHR Expo in Dallas, Jan. 29-31 making it the largest show ever in the Southwest.

According to show management, the 2007 AHR Expo covered 354,057 net square feet of exhibit space with 1,789 exhibitors from 32 countries. More than 300 international and 172 new exhibitors were at the show. Of the 47,000 total attendees, impressively 5,270 were international visitors.

"We are delighted with this year's record-breaking event as it reflects the growth of various industry segments within the AHR Expo and our ongoing efforts to add several enhancements," said Clay Stevens, President of IEC, the Show producer and organizer.

In addition to setting the Southwest record, the 2007 AHR Expo featured:

  • Nine international pavilions, including six from China and individual pavilions from Brazil, Korea and Thailand.

     

  • Two New Product Technology Theaters.

     

  • A Building Automation & Control Showcase.

     

  • An expanded Software Center.
The 5th annual Innovation Awards were presented to nine companies in nine categories in recognition of advances in innovation, application, value to user and market. A complete list of winners can be found atwww.ahrexpo.com/2007/innovationawards/2007winners.php.

Four new endorsing associations signed on this year, joining the 24 organizations already endorsing the AHR Expo.

A total of 62 educational sessions were presented by ASHRAE, ARI, AHR Expo, and other endorsing associations on wide-ranging topics such as “An Energy Star Building Primer - Save Energy, Save Money and Protect the Environment,” “Green Buildings - Automation for a Sustainable Future” and “Real World Radiant.” Also, both NATE and CxA offered onsite certification testing.

The 2008 AHR Expo will be held January 22-24 in New York City at the Javits Center.
