A.O. Smith Vertex Wins AHR Green Building Product Of The Year
A.O. Smith’s Vertex™ was recently named the AHR Expo Innovation Award Green Building Product of the Year. The award was presented to the water heater manufacturer in a special ceremony at the 2007 AHR Expo on Jan. 30 in Dallas, Texas.
Winning products were chosen for their ability to help industry professionals best provide safer, healthier, more efficient and/or more comfortable indoor environments.
A total of 125 entries were received in the competition, and Vertex was the only water heater to win in any category. The annual competition is sponsored by ASHRAE, the Air-Conditioning and Refrigeration Institute (ARI), and International Exposition Company (IEC).
Vertex is a 76,000 Btu power-vent residential gas water heater that features 90% thermal efficiency. It combines higher input with more efficient combustion to produce much more hot water, with lower operating costs.
