Founded in 1973, Denver-based Applewood Plumbing Heating & Electric is celebrating its 40th anniversary. Applewood Plumbing President John Ward has seen his business, including its unmistakable orange service trucks, flourish into a neighborhood icon. Ward’s diligence in providing quality services to customers has led to Applewood becoming a fixture in Denver, Parker, Boulder, Littleton and the surrounding metro area with more than 116 employees, 82 service trucks and nearly 70 professional technicians.

“I always envisioned this business would be successful, but I never could have anticipated the way we’ve been embraced by our community over the years,” said Ward. “Forty years of service would never have been conceivable without the support of our customers and the hard work of our employees.”

Applewood’s commitment to sound business practices has led to double-digit growth each of the past five years. The success of Applewood Plumbing inspired Ward to give back and support the neighborhoods that made 40 years of service possible. Over the past nine years, Applewood’s Caring Community Giveaway has donated more than $95,000 in giveaways to charities and nonprofits in the Denver area along with many other sponsorships, philanthropic contributions and community partnerships.

Some of the other community outreach efforts include Applewood House, Farmers 5000, Denver Browns baseball, Community Caring Giveback and Eye-Spy the Applewood Train campaign. These efforts along with little league sponsorship, elementary science fairs and school support have made Applewood an integral part of the communities they work in.

“We attribute much of our longevity to the service-minded efforts of our technicians and their dedication to representing the essential values of our company,” said Ward.
