Nexstar members, PHCE contractors to share industry secrets

May 3, 2012

Three residential plumbing, heating, cooling and electrical service contracting business owners are opening their doors to fellow contractors this summer. They will share their secrets and every aspect of their operations with owners and upper managers of independent PHCE contracting companies. It’s three days of intense mentoring and sharing of tangible strategies that have led to documented success.

The companies are members of Nexstar Network, a business development and best practices organization delivering comprehensive business training, systems and support to independent home service plumbing, HVAC and electrical professionals.

Peer Group meetings set the standard and raise the bar. Typically for Nexstar members only, these Peer Group Meetings will be open to a limited number of non-members.

Dean’s Professional Plumbing, Heating & Air Peer Group Meeting

June 20-22
St. Michael, Minnesota

Dean’s harnesses the interactive power of a positive company culture. With a strong brand and proven systems in place, this operation is running smoothly and reaping revenues. Dean Adelman knows how to recruit, train and retain good employees, and hold them accountable.

“Every technician gets to see the income statement specific to their truck. They break it down in labor, jobs sold, materials, subcontractors, tools, permits, workers’ comp, health insurance, fuel and payroll feeds. They calculate their percentage of the total jobs that were run for the month and multiply that by the remaining overhead to calculate their overhead burden for that month.”

A-1 Plumbing & Perfect Air Peer Group Meeting
July 18-20
Boise, Idaho

A-1 Plumbing & Perfect Air of Boise Idaho goes beyond the boundaries of residential service.

The thing that sets me apart from most contractors is that I have built my business to be a R&D company, not just a plumbing, heating and air company. What does that mean? We are a replicate and duplicate company that takes good ideas and executes them.” -Marty Cullen, owner

Pippin Brothers Peer Group Meeting
August 8-10
Lawton, Oklahoma
Pippin Brothers, an HVAC and plumbing service contractor in Lawton, Oklahoma, has an aggressive private label strategy when it comes to HVAC change outs.

“We install many private label units on HVAC change outs. We are also very aggressive in the replacement business in our market of about 100,000 homes. This year, we will do close to $3 million in replacement sales. In plumbing, we are always the cleanest plumbers in town.” -Mark Pippin, owner
