Clockwork Franchises Climb 'Franchise 500' List

Clockwork, Inc.’s three franchises-Benjamin Franklin-The Punctual Plumber, One Hour Air Conditioning & Heating and Mister Sparky-have increased their positions on Entrepreneur Magazine’s 32nd annual “Franchise 500” list.
Benjamin Franklin moved up 13 positions from a year ago and is now ranked No. 130 on the list, and has jumped 293 positions in the last five years.
“In these difficult economic times, the professional service and excellent value our Benjamin Franklin franchises deliver are fitting the bill for American homeowners,” Clockwork Home Services Operations Vice President Chris Leach said. “Our increase in Entrepreneur’s rankings is a testament to the hard-work and dedication of our franchise owners to deliver exceptional customer service.”
One Hour Air Conditioning & Heating is ranked No. 117 on the list, while Mister Sparky checks in at No. 243. One Hour Air Conditioning & Heating placed first in the HVAC category for the second year in a row.
Entrepreneur Magazine compiles its list based on companies’ financial strength and stability, growth rate and size of the franchise system. Other considerations include the number of years in business and length of time franchising, startup costs, low employee turnover and wither the company provided financing.
All franchisors are given the opportunity to supply pertinent information associated with their franchise offering to the magazine. The data, collected from hundreds of franchisors, is placed with an independent auditor for evaluation, ensuring no franchisor has the ability to gain an unfair advantage. When the data crunch is completed, the results are published for all potential franchise buyers to evaluate.
