Kitchen and bath plumbing manufacturerDanzewas recently named a sponsor of The House Designers’ first-ever Energy Star-approved house plans. The House Designers are U.S. residential architects and designers comprising the majority of pre-drawn residential blueprints in America. The Energy Star-approved house plans help consumers and builders build eco-friendly, energy-efficient homes.
This exclusive set of green house plans includes all the necessary tools to build a green home, including information on green building products and practices. Danze will serve as the official faucet and plumbing fixture partner of the initiative.
“We’re excited to support this innovative initiative to help homeowners and builders in their quest for more eco-friendly options in the design and building process,” saidEd Detgen, vice president of marketing for Danze. “It’s an important way for us to continue our green efforts in a segment of our industry that has potential to significantly impact the environment.”
The collection of house plans will include several water-saving and sustainable solutions from Danze such as:
- Water-saving lavatory faucets. These offer a 30+ percent savings in water over traditional faucets, operating at 1.5 gallons per minute and meeting California and Vermont low-lead legislation requirements.
- High-efficiency toilets. Another impactful way to reduce water usage in the home. These toilets operate at 1.28 gallons per flush and can reduce water consumption by more than 20 percent per toilet.
- FSC-certified bath furniture. Several bath vanities, mirrors and other wood-based products from Danze are certified by the Forest Stewardship Council, which promotes sustainable forestry.
- Water-saving showerheads. According to the EPA, the average household could save 2,300 gallons of water each year by installing WaterSense-labeled showerheads. These new house plans will address water-saving showerhead options. High-performing options that flow at 1.5, 2.0 and 2.5 gallons per minute are available from Danze.
“Partnerships like the one we have established with Danze strengthen the impact these house plans will have on the building community,” saidTammy Crosby, COO of The House Designers. “We’re helping to educate people how green decisions can influence the entire process, including tips on how to take advantage of savings and rebates.”
