Halsey Taylor’s Marblyte Contour drinking
fountain was recognized in the 2009Design
JournalAward for Design
Excellence Competition as a platinum winner – the highest honor in its category.
ADEX Awards honor the design of
furniture, fixtures and finishes each year, and are judged by industry professionals
representing a cross section of key players in the design
industry. This year’s competition
attracted more than 500 companies entering approximately 2,000 new products.
Each category has potential for three award levels of platinum, gold or silver.
Developed for educational facilities, Halsey
Taylor’s vandal-resistant, bi-level model (HRFGSEBP-VR) features a contemporary
look and is manufactured from Marblyte, a premium non-porous and durable solid-surface
material. The winning model is barrier-free, ADA-compliant model and helps
facility managers protect equipment while providing healthy, lead-free water. Its
contoured basins aids in eliminating messes through engineering to minimize
splashing and standing water.
In addition, the protective
bottom coverplates, manufactured from galvanized steel, are also designed to
further safeguard the unit from any damage due to frequent use in high-traffic
areas. The fountain is also available as a freeze-resistant model.
