California intends to adopt the International Association of Plumbing and Mechanical Officials' 2006 Uniform Plumbing Code and 2006 Uniform Mechanical Code. Government subcommittees are currently drafting state-specific amendments to the codes and preparing to present the recommended changes at forthcoming public hearings. The proposed codes will be identified as 2007 California Plumbing Code and 2007 California Mechanical Code, and are expected to go into effect Jan. 1, 2008.
