S.A. Comunale will become a subsidiary of EMCOR, yet its name will stay the same. The company has about 800 employees within its headquarters and 12 branch locations. It provides full fire protection services, as well as mechanical construction services for plumbing, HVAC, process piping and design-build applications.
Comunale's fire protection business was part of the appeal for EMCOR.
“One of EMCOR's strengths is our ability to provide full 'Life Safety Solutions' to create and support secure environments, to protect two of the most important components of any business: people and physical assets,” said Frank T. MacInnis, chairman and CEO of EMCOR. “Comunale, with it's recognized position as one of the nation's leading fire protection companies, supports this strategy.”
According to the Akron Beacon Journal, Stephen J. Comunale, company president and CEO, and other leaders, including some family members, intend to stay with the company as it becomes part of the EMCOR Group.
S.A. Comunale was No. 9 on this year's PM Pipe Trades Giants list. The company expects its 2006 revenues to be about $150 million.
EMCOR has been No. 1 on the Pipe Trades Giants list for almost every year since the ranking began in the early 1990s.
