EPA's WaterSense Gets First Product Spec
The
EPA's WaterSense program announced the first final product specification, which
covers high-efficiency toilets (HETs) - those that use 1.28 gallons per flush
(gpf) or less. With the announcement of the final HET
specification, manufacturers and retailers and distributors that
produce or sell these water-efficient plumbing fixtures are welcome to join the
program. Once manufacturers have a signed partnership agreement in
place, they may begin the third-party certification process to obtain
permission to use the WaterSense label. Only HETs meeting EPA’s
performance and efficiency requirements will be allowed to bear the WaterSense
label.
