Although the company traces its roots to 1620 in Sweden, Wirsbo became incorporated in the U.S. in 1984.

From a two-person start-up to a leading heating system provider, Uponor Wirsbo celebrates its 20th year in the United States this year.

The company traces its roots to 1620 in Sweden, and by the mid-1980s, Wirsbo had eight offices throughout Europe. The company then branched out to the North American market and was incorporated in the United States in 1984. It has grown to be a leading manufacturer of PEX tubing for plumbing, fire sprinkler and hydronic radiant floor heating systems.

Acquired by Uponor in 1988, Wirsbo is part of an esteemed group of innovative piping companies. It now operates its North American headquarters and manufacturing facility in Apple Valley, Minn. More than 5 billion feet of Wirsbo PEX tubing is in service worldwide.
