EMCOR Announces Six-Month Revenue Increase, Income Loss
October 1, 2004
EMCOR Group reported $2.3 billion in revenues for the first half of 2004, compared with $2.21 billion for 2003. The company also reported an operating loss of $786,000, compared with an operating income of $24.2 million for the same period last year. Second-quarter revenues were $1.19 billion, and net income was $1.4 million, or 9 cents per share.
As of June 30, EMCOR's contract backlog was $3.08 billion, reflecting the company's continued reduction in construction projects to conserve capacity in anticipation of private sector market recovery.
Chairman and CEO Frank T. MacInnis said the company expects 2004 revenues to reach nearly $4.6 billion.
