Ship Preservation Guild Selects FlowGuard Gold For Tall Ship
April 15, 2003
The Philadelphia Ship Preservation Guild has chosen FlowGuard Gold CPVC pipe and fittings for its major overhaul of the tall ship Gazela, the oldest wooden Barkentine ship still sailing. The restoration includes a brand new deck, rewiring of the electrical systems and all new plumbing, including new holding tanks.
The Gazela is 100+ years old and Portuguese built. She was used for cross-Atlantic fishing expeditions to the Canadian Grand Banks before she was retired in 1969.
Complete renovation of the 177-foot tall ship is expected in time for a 2003 rededication.
