MCAA members are remembering Kurt A.J. Monier, former chairman of the board of A.J. Monier & Co. Inc. (San Antonio, Texas) and past president of MCAA, who passed away on March 7.

Monier was a graduate of Texas A&M University and a registered professional engineer. He was past president of the Mechanical Contractors Association of San Antonio, the Mechanical Contractors Association of Texas, and the National Environmental Balancing Bureau. He was president of MCAA in 1983.

He also chaired the State Plumbing Examiners Board and was past president of the Builders Exchange of Texas. He served on the boards of two hospitals, the YMCA, and the Salvation Army.

Monier leaves his wife Ann, son Bill, daughter Martha, four grandchildren, and three great grandchildren. A memorial service took place on March 11 in San Antonio. The family has requested memorials to the Trinity Episcopal Church, 2401 Wilson Boulevard, San Antonio, TX 78228; the Salvation Army, 521 W. Elmira, San Antonio, TX 78212; or a charity of one's choice.
