ISH North America (NA) announced that Honeywell, American Standard and Mansfield Plumbing Products have committed to participating in ISH NA 2002, expanding its exhibitor list to more than 125, not including pavilions from several European countries. ISH NA takes place Oct. 31-Nov. 2, 2002, in Toronto at the National Trade Centre.

"Having Honeywell exhibit is particularly significant as ISH NA continues to grow beyond plumbing, hydronics and kitchen and bath and into HVAC, appliances and energy management," said Dirk Ebener, ISH NA Executive Director. "With our new staff and stronger focus, we expect to add many more HVAC manufacturers to our exhibitor list."

Adding American Standard's plumbing group and Mansfield as exhibitors gives ISH NA the majority of top fixture and faucet companies. Some plumbing makers had expressed concerns about ISH NA getting enough participation from industry leaders to assure a vibrant show. Ebener said that no longer is a concern, and that his exhibit staff will now focus on adding depth and breadth to the show floor.

Ebener also said ISH NA has solved a logistics concern for any exhibitors also participating in the 2002 Engineered Plumbing Expo in Ft. Worth, Texas, just days before ISH NA. ISH NA has assigned GES Logistics to pick up and deliver booths from Ft. Worth to Toronto prior to the start of the ISH NA Exposition.

Additionally, ISH NA has hired Nicole Norris to help develop a world-class conference and seminar program. "With a long list of seminar speakers, keynoters and facilitators in hand, we intend to produce a premier conference program for contractors, wholesalers, reps. and other professionals," Ebener said. Norris will work from ISH NA's office in Atlanta.

Automation Platform Included

Messe Frankfurt has also announced it has agreed to key terms with Echelon Corp., the creator of the LonWorks home automation platform, for extending stewardship of the LonWorld Trade Show and Conference to events in North America.

Echelon's LonWorks platform is used for connecting everyday devices such as appliances, thermostats, air conditioners, electric meters, and lighting systems to each other and to the Internet. Echelon's hardware and software products enable manufacturers and integrators to create smart devices and systems for homes, buildings and other systems.

The announcement was made at a recent press conference given by Messe Frankfurt to discuss the company's upcoming trade shows, including, other than ISH NA, the Light & Building show, for architects and engineers in the lighting, building automation, air conditioning and electrical engineering segments; and Roof & Wall International, for architects, engineers, plumbers and contractors in the roofing, wall and insulation technology industry.

Messe Frankfurt Inc. hosts ISH NA (ISH stands for International Sanitation & Heating) in cooperation with the American Supply Association, the Canadian Institute of Plumbing and Heating, and the Plumbing-Heating-Cooling Contractors National Association. Each association will hold its annual meeting in conjunction with ISH NA in 2002. In 2003, ISH NA will be held in Las Vegas, Sept. 16-18.
