The Roto-Rooter plumbing and drain-cleaning business of Chemed Corp. reported a 5.4 percent increase in revenues for the third quarter of 2004, for a total of $66.8 million. Adjusted net income for the quarter was $5.2 million, an 87 percent increase from the same period in 2003.

Chemed President and CEO Kevin McNamara said that job count increases, expense control at the field level, and strengthening demand in commercial and residential plumbing accounted for the improvement in Roto-Rooter.
