Dwight L. "Ike" Casey is the new executive vice president of the PHCC-NA. Casey has been executive vice president of the Independent Electrical Contractors Inc., based in Alexandria, Va., for the past 11 years. Under his direction the organization grew from a staff of two and a budget of $300,000, to a staff of 12 and a budget of just under $4 million. Membership, number of chapters and training all experienced growth as well.

Prior to his tenure with IEC, Casey was director of membership services for the American Subcontractors Association, Alexandria, Va., which serves more than 7,500 small businesses in the construction industry. He has also served as the executive director of the ASA of the Carolinas, Charlotte, N.C., and assistant manager of the Carolinas' Chapter of the National Electrical Contractors Association, also in Charlotte.

Before his work with construction-related trade associations, Casey was a teacher/coach in the Charlotte Mecklenburg school district.

A resident of Fort Washington, Md., Casey received his bachelor's degree from North Carolina State University and also attended the University of North Carolina-Charlotte. He also completed three years of a state-approved electrician apprenticeship training program in North Carolina.
