Watts Premier Receives First Perchlorate Certification
Watts Premier, a subsidiary of Watts Water Technologies, announced its completion of both NSF and California Department of Health Services certification for the reduction of perchlorate from drinking water on its line of residential reverse osmosis water filtration systems. These units are the first and, currently, the only products certified for 96.5 percent perchlorate reduction.
Perchlorate is used primarily in the United States as missile and rocket fuel. It may interfere with iodide uptake into the thyroid gland, disrupting development in infants and children.
