The Plastic Pipe and Fittings Association discussed green building and corporate safety at its 2003 Spring Meeting Feb. 22-25 in Rancho Mirage, Calif. Bruce G. Kuiken of the American Plastics Council talked about the growth of the green building movement and the role the APC hopes to play in educating the public about the environmental benefits of plastics and positioning plastics favorably in the development of green building standards.

Wayne Merrifield, manager of quality assurance/quality control at Hercules Chemical Co., and Jack McDonald, president of Lasco Fittings, detailed the development and implementation of their award-winning corporate safety programs. Both companies were recipients of PPFA's inaugural Processor Safety Awards at the 2002 Fall Meeting.
