The Construction Writers Association gave its most prestigious writing award to PM Editorial Director Jim Olsztynski. The 2002 "Ned Godfrey Award" was based on a body of work encompassing different writing styles.

Olsztynski's submission included his February 2001 editorial titled "Blue Collar Bias," and the September 2001 cover article, "Residential Construction Done Right." Judges cited the latter as a "useful, service-driven case history," and the editorial as a "good case of rallying the industry on an issue." The body of work submission also included an article penned for Supply House Times magazine titled "Why Wholesalers Still Matter."

Olsztynski is a multiple past winner of CWA awards for editorial writing and newsletter publishing. Founded in 1958, CWA is a nonprofit international organization for journalists, writers, publicists and marketing communicators covering the construction industry.
