Mitsubishi Electric Trane HVAC US LLC (METUS) announced a first-half 2026 update. From January through June, METUS strengthened its focus on leadership appointments, new solution introductions, and other milestones that support reliable comfort for homes and commercial buildings.

Leadership Appointments Support Next Phase of Growth

METUS announced several leadership appointments designed to support organizational alignment and boost long term business strategy.

  • Andrew Kelso was named Chief Executive Officer, effective April 1, 2026, succeeding Mark Kuntz. Kelso joined METUS in 2018 as Chief Financial Officer and became Chief Operating Officer in 2022.
  • Brinnon Williams was appointed Senior Vice President, Integrated Growth, leading alignment across product management, marketing, and sales execution.
  • Robert Smith was appointed Senior Vice President, Integrated Operations, overseeing supply chain, service, customer support, and IT.
  • Greg Moser joined METUS as Senior Vice President, Chief of Staff, serving as a senior strategic partner focused on organizational align
  • Takashi Nakajima assumed the role of Chief Strategy Officer, bringing more than three decades of experience across Mitsubishi Electric’s global organizations and strengthening the business foundation for Mitsubishi Electric’s HVAC expansion strategy in the United States.

Collaborative Execution Drives A2L Transition Readiness

Over the first half of 2026, METUS remained focused on preparing and supporting contractors and distributors through the industry’s transition to A2L refrigerants. Central to this effort was a structured way of working that brought teams together to stay aligned, share updates, and quickly address challenges. By leveraging cross-functional weekly team check-ins, priorities were visible and aligned, enabling the organization to respond quickly as industry needs evolved.

The approach helped reinforce a broader goal: minimize disruption for navigating change. METUS teams were positioned to provide timely guidance and support to independent contractors and distributors, helping them to learn and adapt to the refrigerant transition with confidence.

Smart Solutions Advance All-Electric, All-Climate Comfort

METUS expanded its portfolio of smart solutions designed to support reliable performance, flexible system design, and year-round comfort across a wide range of applications.

  • SMART MULTI 5 Ton Hyper Heating INVERTER (H2i) Outdoor Unit (MXZ SM): METUS expanded its SMART MULTI lineup with a new single phase, 5 ton H2i outdoor unit, enabling additional design options for cold climate applications using low global warming potential (GWP) refrigerant and A2L compliant features.
  • ecodan Single Phase Air to Water Product Line: METUS introduced the ecodan single phase air to water heat pump lineup for hydronic heating, cooling, and domestic hot water (DHW), offering a compact, quiet alternative to conventional boiler systems.
  • ecodanPro Product Line and ecodan®Pro CAHV: METUS launched the ecodanPro product line for three phase hydronic and DHW applications. The product line debuted with the modular CAHV system with low GWP refrigerant and scalable capacity for commercial and institutional use.
  • Comfort app by Mitsubishi Electric: METUS introduced the Comfort app as a next generation smart control platform, replacing kumo cloud and offering enhanced scheduling, multi zone connectivity, and contractor to homeowner communication features.
  • Low GWP CITY MULTI X Generation VRF System: METUS announced the CITY MULTI X Generation VRF lineup, transitioning systems above 65 BTU/h to a low GWP refrigerant and introducing a redesigned outdoor unit line for future commercial applications.

Community Involvement

The METUS L.O.V.E. Committee (Leading Others with Voluntary Efforts) is dedicated to community volunteer projects in and around the company’s Suwanee, Ga., headquarters. In 2026, METUS employees, friends, and family have volunteered in 12 projects so far, including co-op projects to sort food and hygiene items, regular road cleanups, packing nutritious meals for those in need, Earth Day recycling events, and awareness walks for good causes.

The L.O.V.E. Committee also supported the Mitsubishi Electric Classic, an annual golf tournament benefitting the Special Needs Schools of Gwinnett.

“The first half of 2026 reflects the strength of our team and our continued focus on delivering all electric, all climate heat pump solutions,” said Kelso. “From strengthened leadership to expanded innovation, we’re building on a strong foundation to support our customers and communities today and in the years ahead.”
