Johnson Controls has released Metasys 14.1, the latest upgrade to its flagship building automation system (BAS), enhancing energy management, system visibility and operational efficiency. Metasys integrates HVAC, lighting, fire safety and security systems into a single platform, helping facility managers and IT teams optimize performance, strengthen cybersecurity and support sustainability goals. The expanded Metasys User Interface (UI) features a new Energy Dashboard and Reporting (EDR) tool that replaces Energy Essentials, offering clearer insight into electricity, natural gas, steam and water use. Other UI enhancements include electric demand monitoring, mean kinetic temperature (MKT) reporting for temperature-sensitive spaces, and a Spaces Manager for easier adjustments via browser.
Ghelamco, developer of the office complex The Wings, uses Metasys to maintain tenant comfort while minimizing emissions and energy use. Metasys 14.1 also offers broader deployment flexibility with support for both Microsoft and Linux operating systems, improving data processing and system performance. This version fully transitions to the modern Metasys UI, retiring the legacy Site Management Portal. Certified as a BACnet Advanced Operator Workstation, Metasys 14.1 offers full BACnet device integration, improved alarm management, and advanced scheduling, delivering precise, reliable building control for complex environments.
