NKBA anticipates increase in Q1

February 14, 2012
NKBA reported a dip in Q4, but optimism levels remain strong for 2012.

While the release of the Kitchen & Bath Report by The National Kitchen & Bath Association showed a decrease in remodels and budgets from the fourth quarter, optimism levels remain strong for the start of 2012.

Results from the report found:

  • Total showroom visits were down 3% from the previous quarter, but 70% of kitchen and bath dealers are optimistic going into 2012.

  • Kitchen remodels sales volume were down 20% from the previous quarter. This is almost 50% down from last year. However, a positive 73% of dealers anticipate an increase in the first quarter of 2012.

  • Kitchen remodeling prices were down 11% from the previous quarter, but 35% of respondents anticipate an increase.

  • Bathroom remodels basically remained steady having only been down 2% from the previous quarter. Same goes for bathroom remodeling prices that were down just 1%.

  • Kitchen and bath revenue in total were down 22% from the previous quarter, down 48% from last year. However, 68% of dealers are optimistic heading into the beginning of 2012.
