The only executive director that Contractors 2000 has ever known left the organization in December to take an acquisitions position with The ServiceMaster Co.

Jack Tester, executive director since C-2000 was founded in 1992, was named a vice president at ServiceMaster Dec. 21.

No replacement has been named yet, according to Rusty Quarles, president of C-2000. “It was a ground floor opportunity with a very successful service provider that is coming into our business,” said Tester. “ServiceMaster has a long track record of success. It’s a great opportunity.”

Quarles said, “We’re diligently looking for a new executive director. We’ll move forward with our vision; it won’t have an effect on where we’re going.” ServiceMaster (NYSE: SVM), which purchased Rescue Rooter in January 1998, is one of the largest service companies in the world. Rescue Rooter has strong regional penetration in California and the western United States.

In addition to Rescue Rooter, Ser-viceMaster operates TruGreen-Chem-Lawn, Terminix, American Home Shield, Merry Maids, Ameri-Spec and Furniture Medic. ServiceMaster serves more than 6.5 million.

Contractors 2000 currently has 270 members. Its next Super Meeting is scheduled for February in San Antonio, Texas.
