SharkBite’s Disconnect Tongs allow users to easily make a change to — or remove — an existing SharkBite fitting. The convenient, easy-to-use tool is designed to speed up disconnection in open areas as well as in hard-to-reach spots. It is available in a variety of sizes and colors including ½” (pink), ¾” (blue) and 1” (yellow). Apply pressure to the release collar with the disconnect tongs until the grab ring teeth are splayed. This action releases the pipe, allowing it to be removed from the fitting by pulling the pipe with a twisting action.
