J-M Manufacturing Co., producer of plastic pipe, continues its Hurricane Katrina relief efforts - it donated 80 sets of washers, dryers and refrigerators to victims in New Orleans whose home were recently gutted and rebuilt by volunteers from the Catholic Charities of New Orleans, through its Operation Helping Hands initiative.
The homeowners who received the appliances were selected by Catholic Charities and qualified for the rebuilding phase of Operation Helping Hands, which was launched on Aug. 1.
To date, J-M has donated almost $150,000, including a large appliance donation to the Vermillion and Iberia Parishes in Louisiana, and a company-wide collection for Hurricane Katrina victims.
