The Mechanical Contracting Education and Research Foundation, under its new Funding Educational Excellence Initiative, issued its first round of grants. The $4,000 Chapter of Excellence grants went to five student chapters, the $4,000 Emerging Chapter grants went to six student chapters, and two chapters received laboratory grants.

MCERF also issued Undergraduate Internship grants to J.F. Ahern Co. (Fond du Lac, Wis.); Baker Group (Des Moines, Iowa); BMW Constructors (Indianapolis); J.M. Brennan (Milwaukee); General Heating & Air Conditioning (Madison, Wis.); Hill York Service Corp. (Fort Lauderdale, Fla.); Hurst Industries (Belmont, Mich.); Kinetic Systems (New Berlinville, Pa.; Durham, N.C.; and Union City, Calif.); and University Marelich (Anaheim, Calif.).
