The National Building Museum, located in Washington, D.C., celebrated its 25th anniversary in 2005. Various celebratory activities were scheduled throughout the year, including a film series dedicated to the relationship between architecture and cinema; an anniversary bash Oct. 29; and an exhibition showcasing the museum's collection, which opened Dec. 3.

The museum (www.nbm.org) was chartered by Congress in 1980, and is the only institution in the world dedicated to all aspects of the human-made environment - architecture, design, engineering, construction and urban planning.
