The Associated Builders and Contractors sponsored the Careers in Construction EXPO April 29, which highlighted the numerous professional and educational opportunities in the construction industry.

The Associated Builders and Contractors sponsored the Careers in Construction EXPO April 29, a free educational event held at the National Building Museum designed to highlight the numerous professional and educational opportunities in the construction industry. More than 2,000 secondary students from Maryland, Virginia, Pennsylvania, Delaware and the District of Columbia attended the event.

Students participated in more than 30 hands-on craft exhibits, including plumbing, electrical, carpentry, estimating, fiber optics and concrete finishing.

Representatives from area community colleges and universities, the Departments of Education, Labor and Transportation, as well as the Virginia Department of Transportation, met with students to discuss construction opportunities.
