Dornbracht Will Meet Stringent New CA Regulations
Dornbracht, the German-based kitchen and bath fittings
manufacturer, will fully comply with California’s
AB 1953 lead-free law, set to be enacted Jan. 1, 2010.
According to Jon Spector, president and CEO of Dornbracht Americas, “Dornbracht is dedicated to producing premium-quality designs with maximum visual but minimal environmental impact and, in fact, all of our kitchen and bath products sold in North America will either meet or exceed the new limits for lead content regulated by the state of California.”
The new legislation states that the maximum allowable lead content in so-called “lead-free” pipes, pipe or plumbing fittings and fixtures intended to convey or dispense water for human consumption through drinking or cooking is .25 percent, as determined by a weighted average.
