The Plumbing-Heating-Cooling Contractors – National Association was a co-sponsor of SkillsUSA-Vocational Industrial Clubs of America’s (VICA) residential plumbing contest held June 26 in Kansas City, Mo. Contestants roughed-in hot and cold water lines to a water heater, and sanitary drainage waste and vent lines for a water closet, lavatory and washer box. Professional plumbers and pipefitters judged the projects on workmanship, basis of accuracy, proper selection and use of tools and supplies, and proper safety practices.

The six winners — three high school students and three college students — received medallions as well as tools and/or scholarships to further their education.
