A ceremony at Delta's Indianapolis' headquarters was held to receive the Governer's Proclamation from Scott Fulford of the Indiana Commerce Department. A proclamation from Indianapolis Mayor Bart Peterson, recognizing the company's contributions to the city's community, was also presented at that time.

Alex Manoogian, founder of Masco Corp. (parent company of Delta), perfected the patented ball valve and triangular cam that gave Delta its name. He had no intention of entering the plumbing business, but did so after trying to sell his design to existing faucet manufacturers.

As Delta has grown into one of the leading faucet manufacturers in the world, Masco has grown to include cabinets, windows, hardware and other home-related products. Delta has plants in Greensburg, Ind.; Chickasha, Okla.; Jackson, Tenn.; London, Ontario in Canada; and Panyo, China.

A company-wide anniversary celebration is scheduled for later in the year.
