Wilkins Mechanical Services, Bedford, N.H., recently replaced a 134-year-old working boiler in New Hampshire with a donation of time and materials - a Smith Series 8 from Smith Cast Iron Boilers. The donation was the result of a holiday-season contest sponsored by Wilkins to identify the oldest working boiler in the state. The winner was Marc Palmondon of Nashua. The house was built in the late 1800s with an old “snowman” style steam boiler manufactured by the Richardson Boiler Co.
