PHCC -NA VP tells Congress to 'not turn their backs on small business.'

Michael Kastner Sr., vice president of the PHCC-NA, told Congress to "not turn their backs on small business" at a press conference in September.

His statements were made on behalf of the PHCC-NA and the National Alliance for Fair Competition, a coalition of construction industry groups working to stop unfair and anti-competitive practices of some utilities.

"More and more, small businesses are competing against deregulated monopolies," said Kastner, whose plumbing and heating company is one of more than 35,000 small businesses represented by the coalition.

Kastner urged Congress to enact federal legislation that breaks up market power at the retail level and stops utilities from subsidizing any of their affiliated companies - both energy marketing and service affiliates.
