Geberit Mfg. Inc. celebrated its 25th year of manufacturing and distribution of products in the North American Market in with an open house at their facility in September.

In 1976, Geberit AG, from Jona Switzerland culminated its efforts to provide the North American market with products that reflected its 100-plus year tradition of Advanced Plumbing Technology. The Michigan City, Ind., location was chosen for its proximity to Chicago and the rest of the U. S. market through the vast network of highways.

"The company started out with one product that was a modification of the primary product sold in the European market, a plastic replacement toilet tank. As the years went on, other products developed specifically for the North American market, such as cable driven bath waste & overflows and kitchen sink accessories allowed the Michigan City factory to begin manufacturing with plastic injection molding machines" said company president and CEO, Keith Kramer. "Now with products like the Tessera concealed tank and carrier toilet system, we have begun the next phase of development of the North American company."

Guests included the mayor of Michigan City, Shelia Brillson as well as members of the City Council and business development council as well as members of the trade press.
