ISH — The World’s Leading Trade Fair for The Bathroom Experience, Building Services, Energy, Air Conditioning Technology and Renewable Energies — in Frankfurt am Main from March 12-16, 2013, will be distinguished by a variety of new themes and special events.
“Resource conservation is the subject around which everything at ISH 2013 revolves — without neglecting comfort and design,” said Iris Jeglitza-Moshage, Senior Vice President of Messe Frankfurt Exhibition. Thus, the ISH Water section will spotlight the way water is used and set new accents with regard to drinking-water treatment and sustainability.
This will be supplemented by the subjects of cross-generation bathrooms and complete bathrooms and the associated trend towards holistic room concepts that divide the bathroom into interior-design modules. The ISH Energy section illuminates the subjects of efficient heating systems and renewable energies and energy-efficiency and comfort with ventilation and air-conditioning technology.
With all this thematic expertise on board, the outlook for ISH 2013 is extremely good and, with over 2,300 exhibitors, the fair is already fully booked up. To cater for the increased demand, Hall 10.3 will be opened for the first time at ISH and provide the setting for exhibitors in the fields of home and building automation, energy management and measuring and control technology.
Additionally, Aircontec, the product segment for air-conditioning, cooling and ventilation technology, will be expanded into Hall 10.2. All market and technology leaders from home and abroad have signed up for ISH to launch their latest technologies and solutions onto the world market. Messe Frankfurt expects to welcome more than 200,000 visitors with the sanitation, heating and air-conditioning installation trade making up the largest group of visitors.
ISH 2013 will set thematic accents with two new items on the complementary program. The “wall + floor” special show will bring the assortment of innovative products and furnishing concepts for floors and walls to ISH for the first time. Also part of “wall + floor” will be the “Pop up my Bathroom Atelier” special show, which will act as a central meeting place and focus on creative subjects, such as bathroom interiors, holistic bathroom planning, design subjects and bathroom trends.
The three new bathroom worlds will offer a foretaste of the coming season. The “Busy Bathroom” trend describes a bathroom full of activities — a bathroom that vibrates with life. “Bathroom (R)Evolution” characterizes a new type of bathroom for everyone who has an above-average need for comfort, safety, individuality and control. Tomorrow’s bathroom will be multimedia-based to achieve a sensuous bathing experience that can be controlled intuitively. In this case, the focus is on the user. The third trend sees the modern bathroom as the epitome of withdrawal into a world far removed from everyday life. The “Bathroom Bubble” is the answer to an increasing demand for peace and relaxation.
The successful “Barrier-free bathroom” special show will be continued at ISH 2013. In the Foyer of Hall 4.1, the Central Association of Sanitation, Heating and Air-Conditioning, will present this subject, which is becoming increasingly important in the wake of demographic change. With the “Age Explorer” — a special suit that simulates the effects of aging on physical capabilities — visitors will be able to experience for themselves what it is like to be much older. Visitors can make an appointment for the Age Explorer at www.shk-barrierefrei.de around two weeks before the fair begins.
In the ISH Energy section, there will be an information and communication platform for plant construction and the real-estate business for the first time at ISH 2013. Under the heading “FIT – Forum for Real Estate, Energy and Technology,” the Federal Industrial Association for Building Services and Technical Installations will present projects and best-practice examples showing everything for the new energy paradigm in the real-estate sector.
In the ISH Water section, exhibitors present sustainable, design-oriented solutions for the bathroom. The world’s biggest showroom spotlights not only the latest design developments but also modern, sustainable technology meeting modern requirements, i.e., the complete spectrum of high-technology and high-end design. The ISH Water section will be located together with the World of Installation Technology in the eastern section of Frankfurt Fair and Exhibition Centre in Halls 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6.
On the western side of the Exhibition Centre, in Halls 8, 9, 10, 11 and the Galleria, the ISH Energy section covers the fields of building-services and energy technology, renewable energies and cooling, air-conditioning and ventilation technology. Thus, visitors to this section have the opportunity to see the complete spectrum of innovative building-systems technology.
At ISH, air-conditioning, cooling and ventilation technology is to be found under the name Aircontec. The industry presents innovative components and systems that, besides a high degree of energy efficiency, ensure thermal comfort and high-quality indoor air. Also to be seen are concepts and solutions for modernizing existing buildings and for new buildings in both the commercial and residential sectors.
