The ServiceMaster Co. announced it is acquiring the minority interest in The ServiceMaster Home Service Center held by Kleiner Perkins Caulfield & Byers. Terms of the agreement were not disclosed.

The ServiceMaster Home Service Center has built a Web-based infrastructure where customers can order, schedule and purchase home services from a central point. This allows ServiceMaster to move into new business models, such as its initiative with The Home Depot -- the two companies will be testing the sale of co-branded residential maintenance and repair services to Home Depot's retail customer base in three test markets early this year.

Pat Moroney, chief information officer for ServiceMaster Co., is leaving the company to pursue other interests. Succeeding him is James A. Goetz, formerly the CIO of the Home Service Center.

Diane Primo, chief executive officer of The Home Service Center, is also leaving the company. Leading the Home Service Center will be President Charles McCusker, formerly the chief operating officer and co-founder of the Service Center.
