Hansgrohe recently attempted to set a new Guinness
World Record for the “Most People Showering Simultaneously” at its Showerworld
facility. The feat was the center attraction of the company’s annual “Kids Day”
outing for company personnel and their families, held July 19 at its North
American headquarters in Alpharetta, Ga.
With liquid soap in hand and
the hot water running, employees, families and friends expected to become the
largest group of people to ever take a personal shower together at the same
time and in the same indoor setting, breaking the old record by more than 100.
All participants signed in before entering Showerworld and each was
videotaped departing the facility after taking his or her shower. This
documentation along with other materials was forwarded to Guinness in the
United Kingdom, according to Jan Bruno, manager of
training and development, who organized the event. She anticipates receiving
official confirmation from Guinness that Hansgrohe has set a new record some
time in September.
All of the fixtures inside
Showerworld are equipped with the latest in green showering technology:
Hansgrohe EcoAIR showerheads and hand showers that save water, energy and money
— without sacrificing hygiene or comfort.
If confirmed, this would be the
second Guinness World Record set by Hansgrohe. Twenty-five years ago, at the
biennial ISH Fair in Frankfurt, Germany, the company successfully established a
record for continuous showering by an individual (three days) at its show
booth.
