FlowGuard MultiPort CPVC Manifold System

FBC  Building Solutions of The Lubrizol Corp. announced its FlowGuard MultiPort CPVC Manifold System has qualified as a “Green Approved” product of the National Association of Home Builders. Builders who properly use the FlowGuard MultiPort may qualify for up to six points toward National Green Building Certification.

The NAHB Research Center Green Approved product seal of approval program was created to help bridge the gap between manufacturers who make products eligible for national Green Building Certification points and builders/designers who want to use them properly. It is designed to help the market differentiate between products that only claim to offer environmental benefits and those that are eligible for earning points under the National Green Building Standard™.

The FlowGuard MultiPort manifold reduces hot water usage. According to the product’s Green Approved certificate, points may be earned “when the manifold product is used for a parallel piped hot water delivery where the distance from the heater to the manifold is less than 15 feet and the piping volume from the manifold to the fixture is less than eight cups.”
