Frank Horvath, owner of Benjamin Franklin Plumbing in Toms River, N.J., was “arrested” in April as part of the Muscular Dystrophy Association’s Lock Up program to raise money for Jerry’s Kids. With the help of his employees and the staff at Clockwork Home Services, parent company of Benjamin Franklin Plumbing, Horvath was able to raise more than $1,700.
Meanwhile, Doug Loranger’s Benjamin Franklin Plumbing in Pompton Lakes, N.J., joined Autism Speaks to raise money and educate people about the disorder. During the month of April, Loranger donated $10 to Autism Speaks for every service repair over $100, and $20 for every service repair over $500. The company has participated in the fundraiser for the past four years, and donated more than $4,500 in 2007.
