Heating and Cooling announced the appointment of
Mike
Eberlein to the position of engineering manager for heating products.
In his new position, Eberlein will be responsible for the design, construction
and quality-assurance of the company’s heating products.
“Eberlein
will manage the product development team’s efforts to develop leading-edge
heating products and ensure reliability and quality in every product offering,”
said
Alan Kessler, corporate vice president of research and
development. “He will play an integral role in assessing current market trends
and homeowner needs in order to develop advanced products that deliver
dependable comfort and maximum efficiency through smart design.”
Eberlein
is a veteran of the furnace industry. Known for his innovation, he developed
the first line of 95 percent energy-efficient furnaces for Amana, and has been
involved in the design of furnaces for Carrier/International Comfort Products,
and York International.
Eberlein holds a BSME, MSME and MS
Manufacturing Engineering Systems from the University of Wisconsin. He is
currently a member of the Air Conditioning, Heating and Refrigeration
Institute, formerly GAMA. Eberlein acted as chairman of the GAMA Furnace
Engineering Committee from 1996-2007. He is currently on the American National
Standards Institute (ANSI) Z21/83 Committee for Gas Burning Appliances and has
also participated in the ANSI Z21.47/64 Committee for Furnace Standards.
He
will report directly to Kessler, and direct his engineering team in producing
furnaces, from concept to completion, for use throughout North America.
